Little Vy sure has a serious side, but with her families help we were able to sneak a few smiles from her! I like to start each cake smash session with a milestone session. This was an opportunity for Vy to show off her pretty dress and those smiles.
Mom requested a giant cupcake for the cake smash, which is a fun alternative to the small smash cake! If you follow my social media accounts you know I love to bake and these giant cupcakes are one of my favourite creations! The bottom part is actually a chocolate shell.....which looks like it would be hard to do, but is actually pretty easy. I had made a trip to Winners a few weeks before the shoot (which was my first trip back to Winners!!!) and saw this cake stand that I just had to have it. It fit with the colours of this session so perfectly.
The session may be called a Cake Smash but I find many of my little models are more likely to very delicately poke the cake rather than smash it. Calling it a Cake Poke just doesn't sound nearly as fun! Vy was no exception, she was curious about the cake but very cautious. Her dad and big sister had to help her dig in a little more.
My little tub is probably one of the best purchases I have made since starting Purple Elephant Photography. It is seriously the most adorable thing in the world.....made even more adorable by the little ones splish splashing around in it!
