There is something special about a Cake Smash that is hard to put into words, and why it is my all time favourite type of session to photograph! You really never know how a little one is going to react to the cake or the mini tub which makes it so much fun to watch and capture their expressions.
This little sweetie rocked her milestone photos before the cake came out! Sometimes this is the hardest part of the sessions because littles this age are always on the move and there is nothing to distract them. The cake usually is a good distraction to keep them still, even if it is only for a few minutes (or seconds!) In this case she was a bit skeptical about the cake and was very cautious. Sometimes I think I should promote these sessions as a Cake Poke, as many, many babes have no interest in actually 'smashing' the cake!
