I have been photographing this little lady for over a decade. A DECADE! That is some how hard for me to believe, I can only imagine how her Mama feels about her turning 10.
Hanna and her mom are essentially why I am a photographer today. I always loved taking pictures, but it wasn't until Maegan was pregnant and had Hanna that I took photos like this. My photography was more travel, candid and of course of my dog. Looking back at these photos over the years, I see how much she has grown but I also see how much I have grown as a photographer and I couldn't be more proud of both of us.
Each year is a new adventure planning her photoshoot and outfits with her Mom. I am pretty sure each year we both say, next year will be easier right? But of course each year Miss H brings her sassy little self to these shoots. I think there is something about her being too comfortable with me as her photographer; she isn't shy about giving me a challenge that is for sure. I think there is something about being a bit of stranger when I work with other kids that make things a tad less wild. I of course wouldn't trade being her "auntie" for the world and hope she will continue to let us capture these memories of her for many years to come.
I love that her true personality comes through these photos over the years. Some of my favourite photos from this year are the ones she is being silly. They make me smile and I think will be ones to look back at over the years to come. She was adamant this year that she wanted some photos with my little Kadence and who am I to say no? I plan to use many of the same set ups with K over the years so these two will have a special connection through the photos!
Happy 10th Birthday Miss Hanna Banana! Thank you for helping me find and grow one of my passions in life. I will be forever grateful to be your personal photographer.
